Communication tools rule the workplace – and email is by far the best way to capture an employee’s attention, according to new GetData research.

Company-wide emails catch the attention of more than a half of employees, according to the research. On the other hand,  one quarter of respondents prefer digital display screens, according to SMBs. Company-wide tweets are the least effective format for for grabbing employee’s attention – only chosen by 2% of people surveyed.


Key research findings:

  • 58% of employees say that company-wide emails grab their attention more than any other form of internal communication
  • Digital display screens are second most captivating communication tool, selected by 25% of respondents
  • Only 6% of SMBs consider hallway banners the most effective way to capture their attention

Demographics: Over 500 US-based respondents from a panel of SMBs (small and medium-sized businesses). Respondents are aged between 25 and 54 and have an average inferred annual income of $24k – $150k. This research was devised in collaboration with Mvix.
