Techorating – the fusion of technology and decorating – can be a powerful way to improve employee morale and customer experience, according to new GetApp research.

63% of small business owners and managers polled said that they agreed that interior décor, such as “techorating” a company’s premises (using digital signage solutions to adorn a shop/office) can reap rewards for both staff and customers. In fact, 19% of those polled said they “strongly agree” that digital interior décor can have a significant impact.

By contrast, only 6% of small businesses said that interior décor doesn’t make a difference to morale and customer experience, while 30% were undecided.


Key findings:

  • 63% of small businesses say that interior décor such as techorating has a significant impact on employee morale and customer experience.
  • 19% of small businesses “strongly agree” that techorating has a significant business impact.
  • Only 6% of business owners and managers disagree that digital interior décor has a positive impact on a company.

Demographics: Over 500 US-based respondents from a panel of SMBs (small and medium-sized businesses). Respondents are aged between 25 and 54 and have an average inferred annual income of $24k – $150k. This research was devised in collaboration with Mvix.
